Vision

Adrienne Gelfand-Perine is a voice for all Town of Shawangunk residents. President of the Friends of the Wallkill Library & a founding member of Vision of Wallkill, she has lived in the hamlet of Wallkill for 16 years, relocating from Queens where she was a middle school teacher before retiring.

Adrienne is commited to improving healthcare access for Town of Shawangunk residents, improving public transportation, and creating a local economic task force to increase the tax base by attracting small businesses and encouraging tourism. She’s passionate about the hamlet of Wallkill’s farming history and wants to bring that history into the present by developing a farmers market and encouraging mentoring relationships between older & younger farmers.

Vision

Joey and his partner, Ellie, moved to Shawangunk in 2020 to build a home, develop a farm, and engage with the local community. They chose to set deep roots in Shawangunk for its beauty, and as the perfect place to grow their family.

Joey is running for Town Council to help bring to life the town’s plans for a bustling future that respects its agricultural and historic roots. Most of Joey’s professional career has been spent developing innovative healthcare services that have reached hundreds of thousands of patients of all ages, and he’d like to use his professional experience to explore innovative ways to bring more healthcare options to our rural areas so Town of Shawangunk residents can access the healthcare they deserve.
